Updated on 11 October 2026 using the supplied air purifier research file. Estimates, unspecified test methods, and regional verification gaps are marked below.
Noise against CADR and airflow
Higher means more clean air; further left means quieter. Hover over a point for its purifier name, or select it for measurements and sources. Separate solid lines connect each purifier's published figures and the author's measurements. Author noise measurements are LAeq at 1 m; their clean-air delivery values use the ratings or estimates in the table.
No measurements selected. Choose points above to display them.
Select a point to inspect its measurements.
The frontier identifies settings for which no displayed point has at least as much CADR and no more noise, with one being strictly better. It compares reported figures across different protocols, not a certified product ranking. Noise limits (≤, <, or >) are plotted at their stated bounds; the frontier uses those boundary positions, so dominance can change with the actual noise. Selected series include their calculated estimates and reported figures; source notes identify verification gaps. Settings missing either value or giving an unpaired range are omitted. Airflow describes air moved through the machine; it does not establish cleaning performance.

The author’s measurements were taken using NIOSH Sound Level Meter, recording LAeq at 1 m. Measurement duration, phone/microphone setup, calibration, room conditions, and background noise were not supplied. Other noise figures do not share a documented acoustic setup. dBA specifies A-weighting; it does not describe the whole measurement setup. These figures support a first comparison, but not a precise ranking across all sources.
For room sizing in normal conditions and haze, read Air purifier sizing for haze.
Model sources and measurement caveats
S1: Sharp FX-S120E-H
The research file records Singapore-model maximum smoke CADR as 741 under GB/T 18801-2022 and noise as 54 / 37 / 20 dB for high / medium / low. Its linked Sharp FX-S120B manual is for a different regional model: it reports 741 smoke CADR, airflow of 702 / 366 / 132 m³/h, and noise of 55 / 40 / 23 dB, not the Singapore noise figures. The Singapore entries are retained from the supplied file and require confirmation against the exact FX-S120E-H specification. Sharp’s Singapore model page identifies the regional model.
The airflow column uses 702 / 366 / 132 m³/h for High / Medium / Low, the published values already used in the performance estimates. Both the published-noise series and the author-noise series use these airflow ratings. The values come from the linked FX-S120B regional manual; their applicability to FX-S120E-H remains flagged for Singapore verification. They are manufacturer airflow figures, not author airflow measurements.
The medium and low estimates are 741 × 366/702 ≈ 386 and 741 × 132/702 ≈ 139. They assume proportional CADR and airflow, using airflow ratios from the linked regional manual. They are not verified CADR measurements for the Singapore model, so their cells label them as airflow-based estimates rather than tested GB/T results. The Japanese FP-S120’s earlier 644 rating is not used here.
Author measurements: High / Medium / Low measured 62.2 / 48.2 / 39.5 dB LAeq at 1 m using NIOSH Sound Level Meter. These are separate from the published noise figures. The graph pairs them with the manufacturer’s high-speed rating and the existing medium/low airflow-based estimates; the author has not measured clean-air delivery.
S2: Samsung AX40HG5000GMD (2014 Haze MVP)
The supplied research file records 325.7 CADR and 45 dB at high speed. The model is Samsung AX40HG5000GMD, as confirmed by the author. These figures remain unverified; the research file does not identify their original source, pollutant, or testing standard.
The subsequently supplied Samsung manual is archived in docs/samsung-ACR-JUPITER-05554A-00-manual.pdf. It covers the AX40H5000 series, not the exact AX40HG5000GMD code. Its Specifications table on printed page 11 (PDF page 12) lists dimensions of 362 × 477 × 211 mm and an effective area of 41.6 m² (448 ft²). It does not publish a CADR, airflow rate, numeric noise rating, or performance testing standard. The manual therefore does not verify the table’s 325.7 / 45 figures, and no CADR is inferred from its effective-area claim.
S3: Dyson HushJet
The file attributes 131 cfm (≈222.6 m³/h, rounded to ≈223) to Dyson’s manufacturer information and maximum / Sleep noise of 42 / 24 dB to Dyson Singapore. Its list labels those noise values dBA, while its source notes use dB; A-weighting is therefore left unverified. The cited pages did not expose those exact manufacturer figures during this update, so they remain attributed to the supplied research.
RTINGS’ own review reports 250 PM1 CADR. The research file pairs that result with measured maximum noise of 53.7 dBA; that exact noise value was not exposed in the accessible review text during this update. Keep the RTINGS row separate from the manufacturer row: their protocols differ, and neither result is assigned to AHAM or GB/T without evidence.
S4: Trident AirDome 150
The AirDome 150 manual, archived in docs/trident-airdome-150-manual.pdf, confirms 1,000 m³/h smoke CADR in its Technical Specifications on page 15. It does not identify the performance testing standard, pair this rating with a numbered speed, or publish any numeric dB/dBA rating.
Page 11 describes six fan speeds and Turbo as the highest speed (6). Sleep Mode turns off the LEDs while retaining the user’s selected fan speed; it is not a fixed quiet-speed setting. The only noise reference is troubleshooting advice for unusual noise on page 14, not a measurement.
Author measurement: Level 6 / maximum measured 60.4 dB LAeq at 1 m using NIOSH Sound Level Meter. The author confirms Level 6 is maximum, consistent with the manual’s Turbo description. The graph pairs this reading with the manufacturer’s 1,000 m³/h smoke CADR rating. Lower-speed author readings are omitted because their clean-air delivery is unknown.
S5: Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite
Xiaomi Singapore identifies the 360 particle CADR as tested to GB/T 18801-2015, report WCk-21-50641, and gives 33.4 dBA Night Mode noise. Xiaomi Singapore’s specifications list model AC-M17-SC, particle CADR of 360 m³/h, and Noise ≤61 dB(A). The page presents this as a noise upper limit; it does not specify the microphone distance, acoustic test method, or fan setting for that limit.
BreatheSafeAir’s measurements, checked against the review on 11 October 2026, are 350 CADR / 58 dBA at maximum and 155 / 44 dBA at half speed. The review reports the median of three decay-curve runs per setting in a 29.4 m³ room, using incense and a factory-calibrated AirGradient ONE I-9PSL. These are independent room-test results, not identified as AHAM or GB/T certification results. No sleep-mode CADR is supplied. Its series remains separate from the manufacturer’s point and line.
S6: Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6
Xiaomi Singapore’s product page confirms 443 m³/h particle CADR as a tested value from Guangzhou Institute of Microbiology Group, report KJ2025001525E. The page does not identify the performance test standard. Its reference to GB/T 18801-2002 concerns the room-coverage calculation, so it is not assigned as the test method for 443.
The Singapore specifications confirm model AC-M25-SC and 32 dBA Sleep Mode noise, but do not publish maximum noise. The table’s 64 dBA comes from a Xiaomi UK FAQ with a 420 m³/h particle rating; the 443 / 64 pairing remains unverified for Singapore.
The Singapore product page gives 29–50 m² effective coverage and a separate 87.5 m² claim at 2 air changes per hour, assuming 2.4 m ceilings. These use different sizing assumptions; neither establishes haze performance.
The Xiaomi Sleep Mode FAQ states 32 dBA and a purification rate of 30 m³/h. It does not explicitly label that rate CADR, so 30 is not entered as a tested CADR. Medium / Level 2 CADR and noise remain unverified; no values are inferred.
S7: Smart Air Sqair
The BreatheSafeAir review quotes 65 / 180 / 315 m³/h CADR for speeds 1 / 2 / 3. These are product ratings, not independently measured clean-air delivery. The review describes the noise qualitatively but supplies no numeric dB/dBA values. All three settings are retained in the table; none can be plotted as a noise/performance pair.
S8: Smart Air QT3
The BreatheSafeAir review measures 48 / 52 / 63 dBA at speeds 1 / 2 / 3. It separately quotes manufacturer noise of 29 / 34 / 45 dB; those figures are not substituted for the reviewer’s measurements. The stated 37 m³/h CADR applies to speed 3 and is a manufacturer rating, not the reviewer’s room-decay result. Its graph point therefore combines manufacturer clean-air delivery with reviewer noise. Lower-speed clean-air delivery and microphone distance are not stated. QT3 is a personal purifier, not a room-sized device.
S9: Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact
The BreatheSafeAir review reports 216 / 141 m³/h CADR and 56 / 45 dBA at maximum / half speed. Clean-air delivery is the median of three decay-curve runs in a 29.4 m³ room, using incense and a factory-calibrated AirGradient ONE I-9PSL. Both settings form one BreatheSafeAir series. The manufacturer’s 230 m³/h rating and 20 dBA Sleep claim are separate from these measured pairs; no measured Sleep pair is provided.
S10: Dyson BP04 and requested models
RTINGS’ BP04 review, using methodology v1.3.1, reports 329 m³/h PM1.0 CADR at maximum and 47.6 dBA at the highest fan speed. Its low-noise filtration test also delivers 329 m³/h at Speed 10. Lowest-speed noise is 33.4 dBA, without a corresponding clean-air delivery result, so only the maximum-speed pair is plotted.
The low-noise test’s ≤45 dBA threshold uses a different microphone distance. RTINGS’ methodology explanation places its regular noise meter 25 inches (≈0.64 m) away, versus 6 feet (≈1.83 m) for selecting the low-noise test speed. The graph uses the regular 47.6 dBA measurement, not the ≤45 dBA selection threshold. These distances also differ from the author’s 1 m measurements.
BP03: the same review covers this related variant, but RTINGS explicitly says it tested BP04. The reported pair is therefore attributed to BP04 rather than presented as a separately measured BP03 result. No exact-model results for PC2 De-NOx TP12, PC1 TP11, or TP10 were located in RTINGS’ review catalogue or exact-model searches checked on 11 October 2026; other Dyson tower models’ measurements are not substituted.
S11: Panasonic F-JPW50A
Panasonic Singapore’s specifications list airflow 5.3 / 2.5 / 1.5 m³/min and noise 54 / 41 / 31 dB, labeling the noise JEMA without a standard number or explicit A-weighting. The page does not name the individual speeds, so the table preserves their listed order. Airflow converts to 318 / 150 / 90 m³/h; it is not a measured CADR. No clean-air delivery result was located, so these rows are not plotted.
S12: Panasonic F-PXM55A
Panasonic Singapore’s detailed specifications list High / Medium / Low airflow 5.3 / 2.0 / 0.9 m³/min and noise 52 / 32 / 18 dB(A). These values were verified in the browser because the specification table loads dynamically. Airflow converts to 318 / 120 / 54 m³/h. The page does not label these airflow values CADR, identify a clean-air delivery test, or state the noise measurement distance. The rows remain table-only.
S13: Panasonic F-VXK70A
The Singapore product page identifies the model, but its accessible detailed specification page did not expose numeric results. Panasonic Indonesia’s archived specifications provide the same model’s regional ratings: air-purifying High / Medium / Low airflow 6.7 / 2.7 / 1.1 m³/min, noise 54 / 33 / 18 dB(A); with humidification, airflow 6.3 / 3.1 / 1.9 m³/min, noise 53 / 36 / 25 dB(A). The table labels these as Indonesia figures, unverified for Singapore. Airflow is converted to hourly units for reference, not treated as CADR; no verified clean-air delivery pair is available for the graph.
S14: Daikin models
Daikin Singapore’s specification table gives Quiet / Low / Standard / Turbo airflow and sound pressure levels for MC30YVM7, MC40UVM6, MC55UVM6, and MCK55TVM6. Airflow is converted from m³/min to m³/h by multiplying by 60; it is not substituted for CADR. The noise unit remains dB as published. MCK55TVM6’s Quiet and Low results are ranges, retained in the table and omitted from the graph because a single paired result is not specified.
Daikin’s international MC80ZVM specifications list 480 m³/h CADR and Silent / Low / Medium / Turbo airflow of 84 / 132 / 210 / 480 m³/h, with 19 / 25 / 34 / 55 dBA sound pressure levels. The MCK70ZVM operation manual lists 375 m³/h CADR, airflow 84 / 132 / 210 / 420 m³/h, and operating sound 18 / 27 / 37 / 54 dB. Its international specification table also confirms these figures and describes the clean-air rating as converted from JEM1467 test values. It describes noise as the average at 1 m from the front, left, right, and top, equivalent to an anechoic-chamber result; the manual’s dB labeling is preserved here.
For these two models, the table retains the requested MC80ZVM7 / MCK70ZVM7 names but explicitly marks the international regional suffix as unverified for Singapore. Quiet / Standard correspond to the international specifications’ Silent / Medium labels. Only the maximum-speed clean-air rating is paired with Turbo noise; lower-speed clean-air delivery is not inferred from airflow. The airflow graph shows the specified values independently.
S15: Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 Plus
Xiaomi’s official global FAQ gives maximum whole-unit noise ≤66 dB(A) and nominal particle CADR of 760 m³/h. The table uses this maximum-noise limit with the Singapore page’s 810 tested CADR as an explicitly assumed maximum-setting pairing. The FAQ does not establish a joint 810 / 66 measurement or the acoustic test setup; the upper bound is retained.
Xiaomi Singapore reports 810 m³/h particle CADR as a measured result from CVC Testing Technology, report WTS2026-3401-1. It separately states a 760 m³/h rated particle CADR. The fan setting and CADR test standard are unspecified; the page’s GB/T 18801-2022 reference concerns coverage calculations. These are manufacturer-reported laboratory results, not an independently reviewed test report.
The Singapore specifications identify AC-M35-SC. The product page quotes 19.4 dB(A) sound pressure without a paired CADR or fan setting, so it is not paired with 810 in the table. Its 12,666 L/min clean-air claim is calculated from the rated CADR, not a separate airflow measurement. Results apply to the standard dual-filter configuration.
S16: Mijia Smart Air Purifier Max
Xiaomi’s official global FAQ gives maximum whole-unit noise ≤68 dB(A) and nominal particle CADR of 900 m³/h. The table uses this maximum-noise limit with the Singapore page’s 1,006.5 tested CADR as an explicitly assumed maximum-setting pairing. The FAQ does not establish a joint 1,006.5 / 68 measurement or the acoustic test setup; the upper bound is retained.
Xiaomi Singapore reports 1,006.5 m³/h particle CADR as a measured result from Guangzhou Institute of Microbiology Group’s air-purification testing centre, report KJ2025003538E. The fan setting and CADR test standard are unspecified. Its GB/T 18801-2022 reference concerns coverage calculations, not an identified CADR test protocol. This is a manufacturer-reported laboratory result.
The Singapore specifications identify AC-M34-SC. 19.1 dB(A) is a Sleep-mode sound-pressure claim, with no corresponding Sleep CADR. It is not paired with 1,006.5 in the table. The advertised 15,000 L/min clean-air output is calculated from CADR and is not recorded as independently measured airflow. Gas CADR is separate from the particle figure used for sizing.
S17: LG PuriCare AeroBooster AS55GGSY0
LG Singapore’s specifications identify AS55GGSY0.AHK and publish 411 m³/h CADR. The pollutant, testing standard and fan setting for that rating are unspecified. The separate 6.86 m³/min entry converts to approximately 411.6 m³/h; the table retains LG’s explicit 411 m³/h figure rather than replacing it with a conversion.
LG reports 52 / 21 dB for High / Low, preserving the published dB unit. It also lists Auto / Low / Middle / High / Turbo controls. The table assumes the 411 m³/h rating applies to High and pairs it with 52 dB. This author assumption is explicitly labeled; LG does not establish that pairing, and Turbo performance is not inferred. No lower-speed CADR or airflow values are inferred.
